Event Details

Royal Sutton Coldfield Orchestra’s annual Young Soloists concert showcases the extraordinary wealth of talent amongst the region’s young musicians. This year’s soloists include a harpist, pianist, string players and a bassoonist. Each will play a concerto movement or concert piece accompanied by the orchestra, and the orchestra adds a selection of music of its own.

Since the first Young Soloists concert in 1998, this has become one of RSCO’s most popular events and, for many of the young performers, it gives them their first experience of playing in concert with an orchestra. The standard of the soloists is never anything less than astonishing and it’s no surprise that several past participants have gone on to pursue careers as professional musicians.

Boyce Symphony No 4
Mozart Violin Concerto No 5 in A ‘Turkish’, 1st movement
Debussy Danse sacrée et danse profane, for harp
