Sandbach School Big Band with Special Guest Steve Parry

It is with great pleasure that I am able to tell you about a fantastic night of music and entertainment here at Sandbach School.
On Monday 28th April the award winning Sandbach School Big Band will be joined by the fantastic Trumpet, Drum, Saxophone and Trombonist Steve Parry.
As a multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger, Steve has been involved in many shows over the years including The Classic Rock Show, The Official Tribute to The Blues Brothers, Calendar Girls, Greatest Days and more in the role of performer, Musical Director, supervisor and orchestrator.
Steve has performed for many artists including Corinne Bailey-Rae, Chrissie Hynde, and Martha Reeves and since 2013 has been the musical arranger for The Voice UK and also many other tv series for BBC, ITV and Netflix. Recently he has been recording in his home studio on the Wirral (The Old School) and releasing records on his own Steropar label.
Throughout the concert, Steve will be accompanied by the Sandbach School Big Band. In recent years the group has worked with many of the country’s leading musicians including; Georgie Fame; Derek Watkins; Gordon Campbell (Lead trombone BBC Big Band); Matthew Ford (Singer with the John Wilson Orchestra, BBC Big Band and Syd Lawrence Orchestra); Elliot Henshaw (Drummer with Tony Christie); Colin Skinner (Lead Saxophone with the John Wilson Orchestra); Simon Willescroft (Saxophonist with Duran Duran) and Paul Newton (Trumpet with Brand New Heavies and the ‘Billy Elliot’ West End Show) Kevin Holbrough (Lead Jazz Trombone tutor Leeds Conservatoire), Johnny Heyes (Principal Guitar tutor in Popular Music at the RNCM), Georgina Jackson (Vocalist with Ronnie Scott’s House Band) and Tom Seals. In addition, they have been finalists at the National Festival of Music for Youth, undertaken tours of Berlin, New England USA, Istanbul, Singapore and New Zealand and given a performance to two thousand people at the Primary Proms Concert at Chester Cathedral.
This special concert will start at 6.30pm on Monday 28th April in our Theatre Space with seats and refreshments available from 5.45pm. Tickets are £10 each and available from the Main School Reception on 01270 758870 or from this website!
